Chhattisgarh Cabinet Clears Landmark Ease of Doing Business Bill to Boost Investment

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has taken a major step towards improving the state’s business environment with the Cabinet approving the draft of the Ease of Doing Business (Exemption and Facilitation) Bill, 2026. The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday.

The proposed legislation is aimed at reducing regulatory hurdles, improving transparency and making it easier for businesses to start and expand operations in the state. According to the government, Chhattisgarh is likely to become the first state in the country to introduce a dedicated law of this nature.

Business-Friendly Reforms

The Bill proposes several reforms that are expected to simplify the approval process for industries and commercial establishments. It introduces provisions such as Deemed Permission, Self-Certification, Third-Party Verification and Risk-Based Inspection.

Officials said these measures will reduce unnecessary delays, limit repetitive inspections and improve the overall ease of doing business in the state.

Less Red Tape, Faster Clearances

The government also plans to eliminate duplicate licensing requirements, allowing investors to complete approvals through a more streamlined process. The objective is to make government services faster, transparent and technology-driven.

Officials believe the reform will encourage both domestic and private investment while reducing the compliance burden on businesses.

Expected Economic Impact

The state expects the proposed law to attract new industries, create employment opportunities and strengthen Chhattisgarh’s industrial ecosystem. Faster approvals and simplified procedures are also expected to improve investor confidence and support long-term economic growth.

After the Cabinet’s approval, the proposed Bill will be placed before the State Assembly for further legislative process.
