NTPC Korba’s Girl Empowerment Mission Inspires Young Minds Through Role Model Initiative

Continuing its commitment to fostering confidence, leadership, and holistic development among young girls, the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) at NTPC Korba organized a series of enriching sessions under its Role Model Initiative. The initiative aims to provide GEM participants with opportunities to interact with accomplished professionals from diverse fields, enabling them to learn from real-life experiences and gain inspiration for their future aspirations. As part of this initiative, the GEM girls had the privilege of interacting with distinguished professionals from the fields of forest administration, environmental conservation, media, and education, whose inspiring guidance made the sessions both meaningful and memorable.
On 30 May, the participants interacted with Premlata Yadav, Divisional Forest Officer, Korba, who shared valuable insights from her career in forest administration and environmental conservation. She emphasized the importance of dedication, integrity, discipline, and continuous learning in achieving personal and professional success. Encouraging the girls to remain focused on their goals, she highlighted that determination and hard work are essential for overcoming challenges and realizing one’s aspirations.

Underscoring the significance of environmental stewardship, Smt. Yadav urged the participants to develop a sense of responsibility towards nature and actively contribute to environmental conservation. She also stressed the importance of leadership, self-belief, and resilience in shaping a successful future.
Motivating the girls to embrace challenges with confidence, she remarked, “Every challenge presents an opportunity to learn and grow. With perseverance, courage, and commitment, no goal is beyond reach.”
Further strengthening the initiative, on 1 June GEM organized an interactive session featuring Rajshree Gupte, Principal Correspondent, DD News and All India Radio, Korba, and Sadhna Sharma, Academic Director, MLC College, Korba.
Addressing the participants, Rajshree Gupte spoke about the importance of effective communication, curiosity, and staying informed in today’s rapidly evolving world. Drawing from her extensive experience in journalism and broadcasting, she encouraged the girls to express themselves confidently and remain committed to truth, integrity, and lifelong learning. She highlighted how strong communication skills can create opportunities and empower individuals to become influential contributors to society.

Sadhna Sharma shared valuable insights on the transformative power of education and its role in shaping character, confidence, and future success. She motivated the girls to maintain a positive mindset, stay dedicated to their studies, and make the most of every learning opportunity. Emphasizing self-discipline and perseverance, she encouraged them to believe in their potential and pursue their goals with determination.
Across all sessions, the speakers highlighted the importance of self-confidence, leadership, resilience, and continuous personal growth. They inspired the participants to set ambitious goals, overcome challenges with courage, and contribute positively to their communities and the nation.
The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from the GEM girls, who actively engaged in discussions and asked insightful questions related to career opportunities, environmental conservation, media, education, and personal development. The interactions created a vibrant learning environment and broadened the participants’ understanding of diverse career pathways and social responsibilities.
The Role Model Initiative continues to be a cornerstone of the Girl Empowerment Mission at NTPC Korba, serving as an important platform for empowering young girls through meaningful exposure to inspiring leaders and achievers from various sectors. Such interactions help nurture confidence, expand perspectives, and encourage participants to pursue their dreams with determination and purpose.
The inspiring engagements with Premlata Yadav, Rajshree Gupte, and Sadhna Sharma left a lasting impression on the participants, motivating them to strive for excellence, embrace leadership roles, and contribute meaningfully towards building a sustainable, progressive, and inclusive society.
