Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays foundation stone for Fly Ash based FALG Aggregate Plant at NTPC Korba
Korba. On 4 March 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the foundation stone for Fly Ash based FALG ( Fly Ash-Lime-Gypsum) Aggregate Plant at NTPC Korba, marking a significant milestone in India’s journey towards a green environment.
This pilot project, initiated by NETRA (NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance), aims to reduce the use of natural aggregates, extracted from fast depleting natural resources, with patented synthetic aggregate material made from Fly Ash and Lime in 88:12 ratio. This aggregate can be used for any construction work and has got matching compressive strength of the natural aggregates.
Korba is expected to produce 100 cubic meter aggregate per day after the completion of the project expected to be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 22 crore.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the participation of key stakeholders and officials, including Lakhanlal Dewangan, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Labour Department, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, CGM (Korba), other General Managers and employees from NTPC Korba.
